Dr. Packer's research has shown that 5 important antioxidants: Coenzyme Q10,
Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Glutathione, and AlphaLipoic acid form a unique "antioxidant
network". They interact with each other in such a way as to regenerate
their antioxidant capabilities after they have neutralized free radicals. Ordinarily
when an antioxidant molecule neutralizes a free radical, it becomes oxidized
and can no longer be ready to take on another free radical - it loses its antioxidant
capabilities. According to Dr. Packer, when Alpha Lipoic acid is in this
"antioxidant network", it helps regenerate the 4 other antioxidants and
they can be used over and over again as antioxidants.

Alpha Lipoic Acid We get small amounts of Alpha Lipoic acid from certain foods,

How Much Alpha Lipoic Acid Do We Need?
The tiny amounts we get from food are nowhere near an adequate amount necessary
to provide the optimum antioxidant activity that will give us the benefits that
Alpha Lipoic acid can provide. Dr. Packer recommends taking at least 100mg a
day to enable our bodies to get Alpha Lipoic's function as a super-antioxidant.
