Salvia Full Spectrum With MSV-60
Chinese Saliva Root Herbal Supplement
Chinese Salvia (Saliva miltiorrhiza, or called Dan Shen in Chinese) is one
of the primary herbs used throughout Asia for supporting a healthy cardiovascular
system. MSV-60 (magnesium salvianolate B) has been identified as one of its
primary active compounds.
Traditional Use of Salvia
Salvia root (Salvia miltiorrhiza), commonly known as dan shen, has been an important
herb in China, Japan and Korea for centuries. Salvia root has been traditionally
valued for a wide variety of conditions, but the most common use has been to
support a healthy heart and circulation.
Saliva Root Supports a Healthy Cardiovascular System
Salvia contains a range of compounds, soluble in either fat or water. Magnesium
salvianolate B (MSV-60), recently isolated from salvia by medical researchers
at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, was determined to have powerful
antioxidant actions in vitro. Salvianolic acid, a metabolite of MSV-60, was
shown to be the strongest of salvia's constituents in protecting heart mitochondria
from free radical damage.
MSV-60 and salvia extracts in general have also been shown to support normal
platelet functioning and healthy blood flow and circulation, according to a
number of in vitro studies.
