Contrary to the marketing claims, this is NOT a time-release formula. I have used this product for about a year, having selected it because it was less expensive than other time-release niacin products. In my experience (175 lb male) even a single 250mg tablet causes immediate flushing if it is not taken with food. However, I have learned to avoid the flushing by taking one or two 250mg tablets at a time with meals -- thus spreading out the dose through the day.
